So Susan LACQUER LOVE Subscription box
*Products provided for honest review
Are you a fan of subscriptions boxes? Do you get excited at the thought of a gift box arriving at your door filled with mini beauty treats?
By now most of us are aware of the big beauty subscription boxes out there but today I have something even more special to show you; the UK’s first nail polish subscription box.
So Susan began creating unique beauty products but clearly saw a gap in the market for all us lacquer fans. Since the Post Office tightened up their rules on sending polish in the UK it’s become harder to post a bottle to your peers, so this offers a nice alternative to those who want a polish treat whilst maintaining the element of surprise. Unlike many beauty boxes So Susan boxes are published every two months – which will not only save you money but give most people enough time to try out each of the different polish colours.
Each box includes 4 x 25ml bottles of individually boxed nail polish plus a Bonus beauty treat, and costs just £14.95 (with FREE shipping!)
Before receiving the box you can look online to see what you are going to receive each month but if like me you prefer a complete surprise then just don’t look! Mine arrived in a lovely mint green ‘Colour your spring’ box (I’ll definitely find a use for this once the polish is used).
If you’re looking to move toward more ethical beauty products the So Susan brand is all animal cruelty free and the polishes are all 4-free. The packaging is really pretty with gold embossed writing and colourful illustrations on the front of each box.
The four colours I received were:
Ivory – a peach leaning pastel pink crème. I’ve no idea why polish makers insist on calling pink polish ‘Ivory’! To me Ivory is that off-white of bland painted walls and wedding dresses. Is that just me?
Smurfette – as the name suggests this is a bright aquamarine blue, it leans less green on the nail that it looks in the bottle.
Deep Space – not very spring-like but a lovely rich purple shimmer with iridescent flakes of magenta and royal blue. Lives up to it’s name with great depth and this one is definitely the most original of the four.
Meteorite – this is a very sheer coffee/caramel shimmer.
My bonus item was a Water-based pure luminizer (different to the Nude & Improved concealer advertised online). I’m not really into make-up as I rarely wear it so probably would have given this to a friend had it not leaked into the unopened packaging!
This post is just a sneak peek of what’s in store but I’ll be publishing swatches of all four polishes in a few days time so check back then for my full review. I promise there’s a few surprises in store.
Have you tried the So Susan Lacquer Love subscription box? What colours are you looking forward to seeing swatched?
-So Susan have since been back in touch to apologise for the damaged Luminiser and are sending another one out right away. That’s customer service for you!
